Michael Jerome Oher, who was born on May 28, 1986, is a former offensive tackle in American football who spent eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL), mostly with the Baltimore Ravens.

He was selected by the Ravens in the first round of the 2009 NFL Draft while playing college football for the University of Mississippi, where he was named a unanimous All-American. Additionally, he was a member of the Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans.

In Michael Lewis’ 2006 book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game and the Academy Award-winning 2009 film The Blind Side, Oher’s life between his senior year of high school and first year of college is one of the topics.

Michael Oher played offensive tackle for the Ole Miss Rebels football team from 2005 to 2008. He was named a unanimous first-team All-American after his junior season. In January 2008, Oher declared he would be entering the 2008 NFL Draft. Two days later, he withdrew from the draft to return to Ole Miss.

The pair were engaged on July 21, 2021, and they wed in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 5, 2022. The pair had been together for 17 years when they were married.
